What are Cues?
If you’re familiar with lifting or if you’ve previously been an athlete, you probably know what a cue is.
A cue serves the purpose of directing your attention to an aspect of your lift that you want to focus on, improve, change, or implement to your technique. Not all cues work for everyone, therefore a good cue is personal, simple, and direct.
Focus on This, Not That
The online fitness space, magazines, and the people in our lives tend to make things much more complicated than they need to be. Try focusing on just a handful of things, and ditch the rest!
Being Sore ≠ Good Workout
There are a few main drivers of muscle soreness, some of them being a new stimulus, an increased range of motion, doing exercises slowly (focusing on the eccentric), or training infrequently, and thus not allowing your muscles to adapt to the provided stimulus.
